Children

Psalm 127:3 tells us that children are a “heritage” from the Lord.  In our church family, we seek to value and nurture children as the gifts from God that they are.  Throughout the year, we have numerous weekly and seasonal events to help our children learn about Jesus.  Learn more about those events by reading the descriptions below:

AWANA

AWANA is a weekly event for children, Pre-K through 6th Grade on Wednesdays from 5:45-7:15. Awana helps us, as a church family, and you, as parents, work together to develop spiritually strong children who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. This is accomplished through Scripture memory and Bible teaching in a classroom setting as well as one-on-one instruction.

RA’s, GA’s, and Mission Friends

RA’s, GA’s and Mission Friends are a timeless institution in Southern Baptist churches. Through RA’s, or Royal Ambassadors, young boys are taught what it means to be godly men in strength and service. Through GA’s, or Girls in Action, our young girls are encouraged to develop a biblical understanding of self-esteem and a heart for ministry. Then, lastly, through Mission Friends, our young boys and girls are taught about those men and women who are serving to reach many who are lost and dying apart from Christ.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Each summer, the classrooms and hallways of First Baptist Church transform into an environment that will challenge your child’s heart and imagination. What remains constant each year though is the focus of VBS. Through VBS, your children are taught what it means to walk with God in a relationship with Jesus through His Word. Look for more information and the specific dates for VBS early next year.

Fall Festival

On the last Wednesday in October each year, First Baptist Church invites the children and families in our community to come and celebrate the changing temperatures of the season with games and inflatables galore on the grounds of our church. No scary costumes are allowed but having fun is required!
