Children’s Ministry

Children are a priority at First Baptist Church! We not only believe that your child is a blessing from God, but we also desire to show him or her that God loves them and wants to be in a relationship with them. Therefore, everything that we do is focused on helping them understand these truths. Whether it is through learning what God’s Word says through AWANA or Sunday school or having fun at Vacation Bible School you will be blessed by how they grow in their understanding of the Lord Jesus. Listed below are several of the ministries we provide for children. For more detailed information, email Mrs. Martha or call the church office.

Sunday School

At 9:30 each Sunday morning, children are invited to attend age-specific classes during which they will sing, study God’s Word and learn about Jesus. Currently, our children are going through Children Desiring God, which is published by Desiring God, a ministry of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, MN.

RA’s, GA’s, and Mission Friends

On Sunday evenings (5:00 p.m.) during the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons and Wednesday evenings (6:00 p.m.) during the Summer, our boys and girls from preschool up to sixth grade have the opportunity to see how God is impacting the world through missionaries. Royal Ambassadors, or RA’s, for boys and Girls in Action, or GA’s, for girls are Bible-centered, mission education ministry for boys and girls in grades 1-6. Mission Friends is a similar missions education ministry for preschool boys and girls.

AWANA

During the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons, AWANA is a ministry for preschool through sixth grade boys and girls that helps them to know, love and serve Christ by helping them commit God’s Word to memory. To learn more about AWANA, go to their website.

Vacation Bible School

Every year, during the the third week of June, First Baptist Church transforms into a whole new world. Vacation Bible School, or VBS for short, is an awesome, fun-filled, Gospel-centered week for Pre-K through sixth grade that helps them understand more about who God is and what He has done through Jesus Christ. This year, VBS will take place from Sunday, June 21-Friday, June 26 beginning at 5:30 p.m. each night. To read more about this year’s theme, click here.
