It is with great humility and gratitude that I accept the call of my First Baptist Church family to be the senior pastor of FBC. While I never would have chosen for it to happen the way it has, I have never been more confident of the will of God than I am right now. He has been overwhelmingly clear in His call on my life to move into this position.
As I consider what has transpired since July, I can’t even begin to describe the range of emotions we have gone through. By God’s grace we have been able to grieve together and grow in our understanding and assurance of God’s purpose on our lives. We have called out and affirmed the giftedness in one another, encountered and overcome obstacles and endured through the attacks of the Enemy. Therefore, God is setting us clearly on a path of purpose that focuses on growing deeper in the Word and farther in our reach — for the ultimate goal of seeing God’s glory spread through the nations.
This purpose encompasses every ministry, every program, and every Christ-follower in our church family. It is my prayer that God would confirm in each person where they fit in the Body of Christ according to their spiritual giftedness. There is nothing that can compare to the plan that God is setting before us.
Thank you for the opportunity that you are giving us to serve you as a church family.
