Connect

It is God’s desire for each person to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4).  Therefore, to connect with the church, one must first place their trust in Jesus Christ.  This is the first and most essential connection.

Grow

Once a person is connected with Christ and the local church, God’s purpose is for them to grow and flourish through a process called discipleship.  Being a disciple of Jesus Christ simply means that a person grows to see how they can follow Jesus in each area of life.  The Bible, studied and applied in cooperation with the Holy Spirit is the most important element in Christian discipleship.

Serve

Christian discipleship and service are two elements that cannot be separated.  Christians of all ages are called to find their spiritual gifts and serve as God calls them.  Jesus exemplified this same attitude during His earthly ministry (Mark 10:45) and it is our privilege to follow His example (John 13:15).

Share

What you believe about God is not ultimately embraced until you have shared it with someone else (Philemon 1:6).  It is God’s design for Christian growth to result in others hearing about the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8).

Welcome to the online home of First Baptist Church, Abbeville, Alabama.

God is at work at FBC and we want you to encounter Him here with us. We are convinced that God has a purpose for each of you.  And as long as you have breath, God wants to use you to bring glory to the name of Jesus.  This life is difficult and that’s why you need a church family.  If you are new to the area, are looking for a church home, or have never been a part of a church, we would love for you to join us one Sunday.  On this website, you can check out our different Ministries, listen to past messages at the Sermon Archive, or even watch one of our Live Broadcasts on Sunday mornings.  Of course, if you can’t find what you are looking for, please Contact Us.  We pray God’s richest blessings on you in Christ and hope to see you soon!
